Usman Struggles for runs

Pro in waiting Usman Khawaja who is in Australia playing for Australia A in a series against Sri Lanka has so far had a quiet start. In the opening game for the Australian cricket academy against the Sri Lankans Usman scored 13 in the first innings followed by just 5 in the second. Australia won the 3 day game by just 1 wicket. Sri Lanka in there 1st innings scored 224. Australia replied with 241-9 dec, Sri Lanka then set the Aussies 233 to win by declaring on 250-8, Australia getting home with the last pair at the wicket.................. (scorecard)

In the second game so far, this one for Australia A. The Aussies had a far more convincing win, by 107 runs. Australia batting first scored 208 with Usman scoring just 9. Sri Lanka were then dismissed for just 108 in their first innings. Usman then had a knock of 30 in the second innings with the Aussies posting 318 before bowling out Sri Lanka for 316 to win the game. Both games played in Brisbane............(scorecard)
